Ger is a visual storyteller and a qualified National Tour Guide. He lives in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East, in Co. Meath, Ireland. Ger qualified as an electronics technician in the 80’s. He worked in the telecoms industry until he got an opportunity to go into the business working on his lifelong interest: photography.

From his parent’s attic, at 13 years of age, he was already taking photographs and developing his own rolls of film. He began with a modest piece of equipment, a Kodak 126 Instamatic camera and then printing and enlarging negatives in the darkroom he built in his parent’s attic. He owned and managed The Photostore in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin for 12 years.

Since then he has been specialising in technical aspects of photography including 360° panoramic photography as well as producing Virtual Tours of heritage sites and iconic landmarks in Ireland.

As a keen windsurfer, cyclist, hill walker and lover of our maritime traditions as well as developing a deep and lasting appreciation of the great outdoors and especially our natural history. He is a member of the IWDG (Irish Whale and Dolphin Group) and has enjoyed being on several pelagic trips to seek out cetacean life around Ireland. Ger is a regular hill walker and this gives him the opportunities to identify iconic locations for you to capture images of some of the more remote locations on our mountains and rugged coastlines.
